History of Operations
Wisconsin American Mutual Insurance Company was incorporated in 1898 as an assessable wind and hail company based in Dodge County, Wisconsin. It converted to a non-assessable multi-line property and casualty company in 1969.
In the mid 1980's, the company began to diversify its product offerings and eventually offered commercial, personal automobile, homeowners, and farmowners coverages.
In 1994 the company operations were moved from Juneau, Wisconsin to a newly constructed 15,120 square feet facility located on Highway 23 at the eastern edge of the City of Fond du Lac.
Today, Wisconsin American is focused on writing mainly commercial risks, specializing in restaurant/taverns, bowling centers, commercial auto, and other commercial risks.
